HOLY WEEK IN SAN PABLO (Laguna) is an unforgettable experience of pageantry, piety, and family traditions. If you are spending Holy Week with us, Casa San Pablo (Laguna) highly recommend the following activities:

Holy Thursday

Make your way from Manila to San Pablo City, Laguna via the scenic route around Laguna de Bay. We have prepared a Visita Iglesia trip planner, which we will send to you upon booking with us. Our suggested route will take you around Laguna de Bay. You should start off from Angono, following the Manila East Road, and then turning into the National Highway after Pilillia, Laguna and tracing the highway all the way to Pagsanjan, Laguna where the route branches off to Liliw, Nagcarlan, and onward to San Pablo City, Laguna.

Good Friday

Join us on our Good Friday Procession tour. The tour will include the following:

  •  We will show you a video presentation of traditional Lenten rituals in Laguna and Pampanga
  • We will give you an overview of the procession which will point out different layers of the experience
  • We will take you on a private visit to the place where the Escudero family prepares their carosas for the procession. This will give you a rare chance to see the magnificent images up close and give you an idea of the preparations involved.
  • We will visit the San Pablo Cathedral where the procession begins.
  • We will take you to a good vantage point to watch the procession.

The fee for the Good Friday tour is only P650 per head. Tour begins at 1 PM.

Black Saturday

Try out a bit of pottery by joining our Terracotta Doll-making Workshop. These are clay figures originally made by Native American pueblo artisans and now created with Filipino flavor at Casa San Pablo (Laguna). Innkeeper An Mercado-Alcantara will show the pinching techniques using terracotta clay and the acrylic coloring methods she uses.

The fee for the Terracotta Doll-Making Workshop is only P300 per head (including clay). Activity begins at 4 PM.

Easter Sunday

Let’s go on an Easter egg hunt in our sprawling gardens. Your young kids will enjoy the opportunity to search and find, while your tween age kids will follow adventures clues to find out where the bunny rabbits live.

The fee for the Easter Egg hunt is only P300 per kid. The hunt begins at 9 AM.

Liturgical Services

If you’d like to follow the Holy Week Triduum closely, you can take a short five-minute walk from Casa San Pablo to the Parish of San Roque, where the Lenten rituals are solemn and meaningful.

Explore Viaje Del Sol

Most of your favorite Viaje Del Sol destinations will be open for Holy Week. Have an adventure and explore the artisan and culinary highlights along the San Pablo-Tiaong route.
