ROOM 1

Located on the first floor in the southwest end of the main casa, this is a
bedroom for two. It has its own private deck with a view of pocket gardens.
Huge capiz windows look out to the verandah of the main dining hall and on
to the pine tree garden. There is a connecting door to Room 2 for families
who want to have adjoining rooms.

An oil painting called “Hanging by the Moment” by E.J. Cabangon sets the
mood for Room 1. It is a large portrait of a stuffed bunny hanging from a
laundry line, a tribute to his daughter’s favorite toy and the special bond
they share. On another wall are whimsical etched drawings by artist Francis
Nacion. The bedroom floor has an inlay of weathered railroad tracks and
brick. The bathroom walls are covered with clay leaves, molded from leaves
picked up in the compound and hand-prepared by potter Ugu Bigyan and his
artisans. Please click here to view the Room 1 gallery
